Favor Follows the Faithful

Message by: Eladio Peña

“Favor follows the faithful.” Torin West spoke these words over Eladio, and they stuck with him. So, what did he do? He did a Google search……

The phrase "favor follows the faithful" means that God's blessings and special opportunities naturally come to people who stay loyal, consistent, and obedient to Him over time. It teaches that divine favor is not random luck; rather, a steady and trusting heart prepares a person to receive it.

We work and have jobs. We show faithfulness to our employers as we are reliable, don't call off, do a good job, etc.

When you look at what it is to be faithful, spiritually, an unpopular subject comes to mind: tithing.

Tithing is being faithful to God with our money.

Eladio looked at how God favored him and his wife, Haileigh, when they tithed.

Malachi 3:6-10
[6] “For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. [7] From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ [8] Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. [9] You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. [10] Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

In verse 9, he uses the word, “robbed.” Robbing? God says we are robbing Him by not tithing! Wow! That is a scary thought.

In Deuteronomy, we are told to not test God, but here, in verse 10, He is asking us to, so you know this has to be important..

At first blush, many people think tithes are just being given to the church, and that’s it. It is more. What your tithes are used for is more.

The act of tithing can be a lot like the community pool… You can either jump right in, or you can dip your toes to test it and take baby steps to get in.

He keeps His promises. Eladio and Haileigh have been faithfully tithing for a year, and God has continued to provide and bless them.

God keeps His promises.

Yesterday, they moved into their first house! God had His hand over everything. They didn't have to worry.

They prayed. It was something they wanted, and they prayed over it.

Matthew 7:7
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

We can tithe the first 10% of our income, but we can also tithe our time.

Give Him 10% and more!!

If you are faithful in doing what God calls us to do, His favor will follow you.
