Great Authority

Message by: Herb Monroe

God has given every believer authority over every demonic spirit - not only to stop it but to demand it to leave forever.

In this world, we have been told, “That's just the way it is.” But, we have been given the power to change things.

When Herb was young, his father would tell him how he wanted him to work and how he wanted him to run the tractor. When doing the farm work, Herb would feel the Holy Spirit's anointing.

A yolk holds a person. Sometimes you don't feel right because the Holy Spirit is holding and directing you.

The Holy Spirit is just as real as the Father and the Son - He is the third part of the Trinity. He is real. He is not abstract. He will speak to you. He will reveal to you the Word of God.

So often, we are so busy, we read a chapter in scripture and just move on.

Philippians 4:13
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

1 Corinthians 10:13
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

God wants to reveal the deeper meaning of every word we read in His Word - shown to us through the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:17
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

The enemy doesn't want us to learn what the Word really says and to learn about our authority. We aren't just here to live and go to Heaven, we are called to be powerful weapons of God on this earth.

God gave Adam and Eve dominion over everything in this earth - He also gave US and our words, in the name of Jesus, over everything in this earth.

We are so independent, we make it hard to receive things in this world. But He is greater than any situation.

Sometimes we can't see God's timing, but He is lining things up for His plans.

John 14:27
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

We have to leave fear behind, and embrace His peace.

The words out of our mouths determine our existence.

When you wake up, declare blessings - not curses. When we do this, we can know that God is working.

The enemy is sneaky and deceptive. He will tell you, or have others tell you, things to shut you down.

Dwell on Psalm 103…

Psalms 103
[1] Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. [2] Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. [3] He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. [4] He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. [5] He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! [6] The Lord gives righteousness and justice to all who are treated unfairly. [7] He revealed his character to Moses and his deeds to the people of Israel. [8] The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. [9] He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. [10] He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve. [11] For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. [12] He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. [13] The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. [14] For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. [15] Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. [16] The wind blows, and we are gone— as though we had never been here. [17] But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children [18] of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments! [19] The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. [20] Praise the Lord, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands. [21] Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels who serve him and do his will! [22] Praise the Lord, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the Lord.

When we declare, and use our God-given authority, we must do it in Jesus’ name.

Herb is 86. He hates the word, “old.” Why would one person give up and surrender to being “old”? They give up on hope.

Don't lose hope.

Don't stop praying.

Pray over your own health. Pray over others’ health.

Herb used to be known as the healing pastor, because he prayed for the sick.

So many times, people pray, “If it's Your will…” we need to take authority and declare it because it is always His will to heal.

God is a god of miracles.

Herb told us about his upcoming mission trip to Tanzania. He could not do any of this with his own strength. God gives Herb the strength to make these trips.

Every time Herb starts a service on a mission trip, he starts with one message, and they ask for more because they are hungry for God and His word. Sometimes, when Herb uses the authority God gave him, he is asked what his church is. They assume he is pastoring to one congregation. However, Herb doesn't have a church.

God doesn't look for degrees or certifications.

The Father qualifies us.

Jesus empowers us.

The Holy Spirit lives and works within us.

The enemy will come against you and keep you from discovering and using this power.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

God doesn't break His promises.

1 John 1:9
But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Become a part of God’s righteousness and use the authority He has given you.
