THE HOLY SPIRIT IS KIND OF A BIG DEAL

This morning, we went old school again (like the first generation church old) with round table discussion led by Men’s Bible Study. We dug into the Bible - from Genesis to Revelation…

We kicked off by discussing the need for the full armor of God because the powers of darkness are constantly working against us. Some of the attacks we feel most include:

• Doubt

• Distraction 

• Guilt 

• Thief of joy

We need the Holy Spirit! The Spirit is often overlooked because we are always seeking God the Father or remembering the life of God the Son, but God the Spirit reaches us in various ways and is kind of a big deal...

The Holy Spirit's work within us is to help us lead others to Jesus. 

The question was posed… In first recognizing that the Trinity was here from the start… The world saw 2,000 years of God the Father (in the Old Testament); then 2,000 of God the Son (in Jesus' sacrifice, salvation, and church building); will there be 2,000 years of God the Holy Spirit? If so, what would that look like?

Our need for the Holy Spirit goes back to the Garden of Eden.

Lucifer/Satan committed the first sin, not Eve or Adam... until their sin, they were with God. After their sin, they lost that relationship. Today, we can rejoice in knowing that Jesus makes it possible for us to not only commune with God, but God dwells in us through the Holy Spirit, and that’s kind of a big deal!
