God is Bigger!
Herb grew up on a wheat farm. Herb was blessed to make it into college, even though he didn't have good grades. It was there that a fellow student invited Herb back to his dorm to invite him to accept Jesus.
God had a plan, and God has a plan!
No matter what you have going on in your life, God is bigger!
Job 22:26-30
[26] Surely then you will find delight in the Almighty and will lift up your face to God. [27] You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows. [28] What you decide on will be done, and light will shine on your ways. [29] When people are brought low and you say, ‘Lift them up!’ then he will save the downcast. [30] He will deliver even one who is not innocent, who will be delivered through the cleanness of your hands.”
We need to rebuke any negative word that has been spoken against us or that we have spoken against ourselves.
Herb didn't have an easy childhood, and he didn't finish college - he flunked out. After he was married, and had children, he did finally go back to college and finish his education on the Dean's list!
Herb did not want to go to seminary. It was not on his list of goals. But, God gave Herb a vision, and he graduated from Eastern Baptist Seminary in Philadelphia. Soon after, he was faced with considering a church…. But his spirit was telling him, “No.”
When God gives you something in your spirit that stirs you to know he wants you to say, “No,” you need to say, “No.”
We need to speak what God wants.
Herb knows a woman who is single, but believing for the husband God is sending for her. At dinner, she places a seat for herself, Jesus, and the man she is believing for. That is faith! That is preparing for God to fulfill a promise.
Genesis 18:14
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”
Luke 1:37
For no word from God will ever fail.
Mark 10:27
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”
Learn to live in revelation knowledge.
God reveals - by the Holy Spirit (who dwells in you) - a message He has for you, in His word.
The Holy Spirit will show us what is right AND what is wrong.
There are things about the Holy Spirit that we have not been taught before or have experienced before. Revelation knowledge will bring these deeper meanings to us.
God wants us to come into a place where we walk by faith and walk by love.
Ephesians 3:14-21
[14] For this reason I kneel before the Father, [15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. [16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. [20] Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, [21] to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Looking at the turmoil in the world, we should not let it influence us, but we must speak Jesus into it.
While we do not support some of President Trump's previous lifestyles, it is evident that God has put him in his position today. God is working in Trump's present and America's future.
When we are making big decisions, we should be asking God to confirm that it's His will before we pursue it.
God can teach you through infirmity and tragedy. He loves you. He isn't punishing you. He is there for you and loves you.
Jesus Christ bore our griefs and our sorrows.
Everyday is a blessing because God is blessing us everyday.
He isn't tight. He isn't holding back from you.
We must declare: “I am blessed. I am highly favored.” Declare it every morning and every night.
God doesn't decide to only bless us if we have done a good job…. God is always reaching out to love and bless those who will receive it.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11
[4] There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. [5] There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. [6] There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. [7] Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. [8] To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, [9] to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, [10] to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. [11] All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
There is also a, “Ministry of Helps,” from the Holy Spirit. Sometimes it comes through helping with a ride, helping around the house, helping financially, giving encouragement, cooking, etc.
Using the gifts takes FAITH!
God doesn't force us to do anything. We have to be willing for God to use us.
We have the authority to speak against the enemy.
Peter walked on water…. Because of one word from Jesus: “Come.” Are you willing to step out on the water if God calls you?
In everything, trust in God.
We are called to be light and salt.
Salt preserves.
Light takes away the darkness
What are you believing for?
It might be hard to look out five or ten years, but God is already there.
We are God’s workmanship and righteousness.
The tabernacle is a physical illustration of who YOU are - of who God made YOU to be.
You are not Holy. You are not righteous, but God has given you the holiness. God has given you righteousness through Jesus Christ.
Instead of saying, “I am a sinner saved by Grace.” We should be saying, “I WAS a sinner saved by Grace; now I am the righteousness of God.”
When God looks at you, He doesn't see you as a pile of sin. His stomach doesn't turn when He looks at you. When He sees you, He smiles.
This doesn't mean we aren't working through things, but we are God's workmanship.
Ephesians 2:10
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Philippians 1:6
…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
God sees you as a vessel of honor. God doesn't see first class, second class, third class, etc…. We are His class.
We need to live in God’s purpose.
We should not be living by emotions; we should be living by the Spirit.
Luke 10:19
I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
What is God showing us that we can take a step of faith in?
2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Philippians 2:13
for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.
