Getting Ready to Fish!
The Men’s Bible Study group brought their Wednesday night studies to everyone during Sunday Morning Worship.
God continues to lay DISCIPLESHIP on our hearts, as He has given us this task in His Great Commission. So, to kick off the time of fellowship and learning, we reflected on characteristics of a fisherman (since seven of the 12 original disciples called by Jesus were fishermen)… As you read this list, try to relate these characteristics to a fisher of men.. not just a fisherman:
Skill and Expertise in Fishing Techniques
Mastery of Fishing Equipment
Knowledge of Fishing Spots
Understanding Weather Patterns
Adaptability in Fishing Methods
Hard Work and Perseverance
Long Hours of Labor
Endurance in Harsh Conditions
Persistence in the Face of Uncertainty
Collaboration and Teamwork
Partnerships in Fishing
Shared Responsibilities
Mutual Support and Encouragement
Adaptability to Changing Conditions
Adjusting Fishing Methods
Responding to Weather Changes
Risk-Taking and Courage
Confronting Natural Hazards
Knowledge of Natural Cycles and Seasons
Timing Fishing Expeditions
Observing Fish Behavior
Patience and Waiting
Endurance in Waiting
Humility and Teachability
Immediate Obedience
Community Engagement and Interaction
Integration within Communities
The group shared round-table discussion on the importance of being BOLD for Christ. We are excited to pick this message back up on Sunday, March 30th.
The Bible verses read this morning were:
Matthew 28:16-20
Mark 16:14-20
Colossians 4:5-6
