The Battle is the Lord’s

Don and Cindy Martz went into detail of their second day in Israel…. Where the infamous story of 1 Samuel 17 came to life!

It was awesome to see pictures of the actual battlegrounds and the brook where David would have pulled the stone that took Goliath down.

Cindy walked us through the story of David and how he (the youngest of seven brothers) was braver than every man in the Israelite army (including his three oldest brothers who were soldiers in the army), as well as his other older brothers, and was bold for God. When David heard the things Goliath was saying against God, he was immediately compelled to fight for God’s honor. He was a teenager who would have been half the height of (and much, much smaller than) the giant. Still, his faith was bigger.

God is sovereign.

Goliath’s armor would have only exposed a small portion of his face to see and breathe out of… God gave David the victory with one stone to hit his adversary just right - proving the power and perfectness of God.
