The Awesomeness of God!!!

We were excited to hear from Don Chubb II for this message; it was birthed from Matthew 7:21-23, which reads:

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”

So, who is God the Father? To help understand this, we read/referenced the following scripture:

• Job 3:1-3, 10:2, 13:3, 23:3, 31:35, 38-41 (38:1-7, 40:1-5, 6-10.. 42:1-6)

• Exodus 33:17-23, 34:29-30

• 2 Chronicles 26-28

• Isaiah 6:1-8

• Ezekiel 1:1-28

• Revelation 4:1-5:3

• Hebrews 1:1-4

• John 14:8-9

God is powerful. He is magnificent. He doesn’t need a physical throne, but He uses one for our own earthly illustration to know that He rules over everything!

If we want to know what God is like, look at Jesus. Jesus loved everyone, but he hates sin. God hates sin.

The Bible is a history book, and the Bible is a love story.

The reason God hates sin is that it ultimately hurts us and everyone we are connected to. So, what did God do to save us from our sin? He did something we would never be able to do - He sacrificed his most loved, and only Son for our salvation.

Think on that.

He is all-powerful, but loves you so much, he gave Jesus for you. That is love, and God is awesome!
