Being a Christian Should be Supernatural

Message by: Herb Monroe

We should not want to be an “ordinary” Christian.

We should not want to act and be limited in the natural. The soul is outside of the natural, so our prayers and expectations should be too.

God looks at every situation. He knows everything about us. He knows how to heal the trauma. We can share this hope and blessing.

We should all read and be intimately familiar with Isaiah 60 and Isaiah 61.

There is power in every Scripture we read. The enemy doesn't want us to read and comprehend them.

We need to read AND meditate on the Word.

Psalm 91:1-2
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

In Psalm 91, we read about dwelling in the secret place. What does it mean to dwell? Dwelling is not habitual, but it is living IN it.

God wants us to know that Jesus Christ is in you, the hope of glory. We should think on this a lot. It brings us the ultimate HOPE. The enemy doesn't want you to have hope. Hope is important.

Hope takes us out of the ordinary and into a place of expectation.

Herb lost his wife. He misses her, but God daily restores Herb's JOY. Joy is another important thing that the enemy doesn't want us to have. Joy doesn't come from material things.

There is a lot of controversy over the “prosperity gospel”…

John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

This is God’s will for us. To prosper in all areas of life. Especially in relationships.

We also need to remember that God's way is different than our ways. His ways are above our ways.

Whatever desire God has placed in your heart, don't let it go… let God work on it.

Psalm 68:28
Your God has commanded your strength;
Strengthen, O God, what You have done for us.

We are strongest when we commune with God. One critical way to commune with Him is through prophecy. The enemy has stolen this from the Church. Prophecy is part of our walk - hearing from God in the first person, but so many churches are missing it.

We need to take off barriers of God's ability. It is not secret what God can do.

God has also given us authority and power!

The day before Pentecost, Jesus gave his disciples His authority.

Psalm 37:16
A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.

We are seeing the wicked enjoy wealth in America as well as in third-world nations. The people are being robbed by the wealthy. It is prevalent in Islam. The goal of Islam is to destroy America. Mohamed was a demonic medium. He was ruled by demons and wrote the Quran on behalf of demons. Right now, God is revealing Himself to Muslim people. We need to use our authority to proclaim Jesus and reform over the Muslim people. We need to pray for protection over those already converted from Muslim to born again Christianity.

1 John 3:8

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

God gave us this power - the power to destroy the devil. Our words hold power.

Job 22:28-29

You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person.

Pray for people who need Jesus to be humbled to be able to receive Salvation.

Sometimes we compare things… like more good than bad to help counter our conscience… God does not compare. He forgives.

We need to forgive. Even those who have wronged us. Our human memory makes it hard to undo the rumblings of their deeds… but, we need to release them.

We need a revelation of the Word of God, of who He is, of what He has promised to us.

God has great things ahead of us.

We cannot agree with the enemy. We cannot agree with what the enemy is trying to do.

God has used many people throughout the years to perform supernatural events. He is not done. He can use us to do supernatural, we just have to have faith.

John 14:16-17

And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

It is the same with Holy Spirit… We can never get “good enough” to deserve this... the Holy is a gift from Jesus. The Holy Spirit is no smaller or bigger in any one of us… Our age doesn't matter. We all have access to the same, BIG Holy Spirit. We need to have the FAITH to access this power.

Some people talk about things needing to be in “God's time.” When it comes to introducing Jesus to unbelievers, it is always God's time. When it comes to saving souls, it is always God's time! When it comes to healing trauma, it is always God's time!

We need to pray that God removes our doubt. We need a new vocabulary - one that refuses to give in… We have authority in the blood of Jesus Christ. His blood is perfect and powerful. We must pray to cover things in the blood of Jesus Christ.

We need to know what the gifts of the Holy Spirit are and how they function.

The enemy is tricky. He comes along with family members. He comes along with church leaders. Apostasy is breaking into churches. They are ignoring the Word of God. The enemy is convincing them that they are above the Word.

Ultimately… The enemy will not win in America. The enemy will not live in the Middle East. The enemy will not win on the earth. God is moving and working.

Pray for all of the walls to come down.

Pray that we take all limits off of God.

Matthew 11:1-6

[1] Now it came to pass, when Jesus finished commanding His twelve disciples, that He departed from there to teach and to preach in their cities. [2] And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples [3] and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” [4] Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: [5] The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. [6] And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Pray that we take all limits off of God.

Deuteronomy 11:24

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the Western Sea, shall be your territory.

God wants to use us to be a light in Millersburg and beyond.

Herb is praying that the Beacon is a place is where they meet Jesus.

Herb challenged us to each find scriptures on the things we want to see come to pass and read and meditate on those scriptures.

Allow God to do supernatural over each of us and through each of us.

Amen!
