Fighting Temptation

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. - 1 Corinthians 10:13


Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. - James 1:12


Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Types of Temptation…

Sexual Immorality: Having sex with someone other than your spouse. This includes homosexuality, having sex before marriage, bestiality and a wide range of sexual activity.

ImpurityLust, Porno, 900 numbers, Dirty magazines, etc., a broad term covering many areas.

DebaucheryOut of control, excessive sensually, dirty dancing, Dressing in sleazy clothes.

Idolatry: False gods, anything you place above God… girlfriend/boyfriend, sports, television, etc.

WitchcraftThe occult, the use of drugs or alcohol to escape or to alter your thought process.

Hatred: Detesting someone, mean feelings/actions directed toward another, passionate dislike.

DiscordHaving a bad attitude, acting on your hate, difficult to get along with.

JealousyBeing angry or resentful toward someone because they possess something that you do not.

Fits of RageThrowing a fit, losing control, a temper tantrum.

Selfish AmbitionSelf-centered, looking to personal interests at others expense, self-promotion, pride.

DissensionArrogance that causes clicks, thinking that your group is better than everyone else’s.

FactionsCliquish, segregationist, being part of a group that causes trouble, gangs

EnvyBeing mad when something good happens to someone else, being resentful.

DrunkennessGetting high from beer or drugs, impaired state.
